As if Consulting Detective wasn't the best job ever, now we have Psychic Consulting Detective! :D Pretty cool, uh? For a moment I thought John had made up Sherlock and was going to wake up in an asylum or something, but this was much cooler. :D Thanks for sharing!

lol - thanks. Could you just imagine the adventures of the world's only Psychic Consulting Detective? He could annoy the living *and* the dead. :D

The asylum idea is pretty cool as well. Maybe one day I'll get round to something like that.

Thanks for commenting. :D

Yup, Stamford's dead too. That's one of the reasons John was surprised to hear his name called. Although see if you can figure out how he died. ;)

TWIST!

I don't quite understand how Mike was able to see him (re-reading, he must be dead, too), and I love that there's some kind of Beetleguesean beauracracy that includes psychological help for the newly departed. All in all, I love the premise here, and you handled it quite deftly.

Thank you. Yes, twist indeed. :D

Yup, Mike's dead, he's a ghost too. (There is a slight hint as to how he died) ;)

Glad you enjoyed it. I blame the premise on the fact it had just been Halloween, which is interesting as I don't do Halloween.

Anyway, thanks for the comments. :)

I thought Shyamalan had worn me out on "they're dead/aliens/faeries" plots, but here you got me again. Reading the second time everything had slightly skewed meanings, and I admire the sentence structure and word choice it took to hide the truth from anyone not looking for it.

So, did Mike die in a lab explosion, or was it a home cooking accident? :P

Wow, thank you. It was certainly a very interesting exercise in writing something where every line had to be checked and double checked for meaning.

Ah, glad to see someone figured out how Mike died. :D Actually, in my head he died in his sleep from a gas leak from his stove at his home, although explosion would work as well. :)

Thanks for the comments.
