I've read Good Omens, although that was years ago, and I read through my friend's copy of Smoke and Mirrors while on holiday with them. I just haven't gotten around to American Gods yet, although maybe I'll do Stardust first, or Anansi Boy, my copy of which is currently in my desk at work. I can't put them off forever but American Gods doesn't look easy. :)
I'll keep an eye out for Kim Harrison and Mercedes Lackey. I hadn't heard of them before.
Ahhhh, Anne McCaffrey. It's been ages since I've read anything by her and amusingly I never did get around to her dragon stories. I could never figure out where to start and/or the library never had the right ones. I think I've read The Rowan and some of the sequels though. I've just looked them up and they certain look familiar. The first books I read of hers was The Catteni Sequence, which I remember really enjoying. Then I read The Petaybee Trilogy, which I liked but not as much. And that was pretty much as far as I got, but then I was about 16 at the time. :)
