One of my favorite moments so far: John noticing how blue the sky is overhead after he wins. I just *love* that. And I love being inside his head, and seeing how much of a motivator Sherlock's become for him.

But my heart just breaks for Sherlock there. (Although I'm secretly relieved we don't have to see them face each other.)

For your lovely comments, always. I'm fascinated to know reader's reactions because I know what's going to happen. There's no surprise for me. Having someone on the edge of their seat is the best thing ever for a story like this. And the ability to shock or surprise... I hate being predictable. ;)

Blank shock and dull fear is exactly right and very nicely put, thank you. Poor John. Best result of his life and now he has to face a Sherlock who got knocked out my Moriarty.
