Yeah, eventually I got myself worked up to the point where I marched back over there and talked to them. In addition to hating to make trouble, I have a weird almost-phobia about being the center of attention when it comes to anything medical, so I really did put off going back and long as I could. But it was too much.
I didn't particularly like that they immediately suggested it was a side-effect of the material or the size or the angle or any of the other things they used to explain it. But maybe they just gt so tired of hearing people complain that they assume it is nothing series. Eventually I convinced the person helping me to actually put them on and that got her believing. Once they passed that point, they didn't give me any trouble at all about making another set, so not it is just a waiting game.
These lenses are actually thinner than my old ones, so I don't think that was the problem. It is so hard to explain. But essentially the rim of my old glasses was cloudy and opaque. I don't know if this is true of all glasses, but it always has been of mine. But with the new ones, instead of just cleaning off the material to cut them, they buffed it off so that the edges ended up transparent. Which would be fine if they fit entirely within the frames, but the small part that extended past the frames actually bent light directly into my eye. Not fun.
