Stolen from Borrowed from Inspired by ladymeg1:

According to this site, the #1 song on the day I was born was "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart" by The Bee Gees. The is particularly ironic because the Bee Gees scare me. Truly. That one guy's voice just sort of makes my head hurt. I can't hear that high. I try to listen to a song (okay, I don't, but it ( Read more... )

OMG I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE this song! You mean you don't picture yourself walking down the street with this playing in the background as your theme song? Remember when they played in either Grumpy or Grumpier Old Men? That was hilarious.

I have been singing the words soooooo wrong for so many years. Whoops. It is now my personal mission to learn them all correctly!

You can not hate on the Bee Gees. Have you been drinking antifreeze?

I will (very sheepishly) admit that I occasionally find myself walking down the hall at work and think to myself "man, I'm walking particularly cool today" and I think there should be a band playing behind me. (*blush*) But it shouldn't be the Bee Gees. There is nothing cool about that voice. :)

What words were you singing? That could be a hundred times better than having the real ones stuck in my head the rest of the day. Share!

No antifreeze today, but there does appear to be a substantial theme developing in my journal of brains hurting! Of course, people that have read my journal for years will tell you that it was only a matter of time. I'm sure my posts have made brains ache before. :)

Let's get retarded! Ha! creamofwheat February 24 2006, 17:52:00 UTC
Ok...a lot of the words are just weird noises made in the Barry Gibb voice. Those are designated by "ehhh ohhh ahhh" or something like that. Here are some of them. Prepare to laugh.

Music loud and women warm

is...

You give love and ehhh, ohhhh ahhh..

We can try to understand

is...

We can try a one night stand

the New York Time's effect on man.

is...

do your act ahhh eehhh ohhhh ahhhhn

Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'

is...

Music City breakin' and everybody shakin'

Well now, I get low and I get high,
and if I can't get either, I really try.

is...

And I can't get in, the boobie try.

You know it's all right. It's OK.
I'll live to see another day.

is...

We can ahhhh ohhhh on the way

So in this case, the gutteral noises aren't even to cover words you don't know. The Bee Gees were actually recreating the "act". That is scary. :)

Hahahahaha. I like your version so much better. Every song is better with boobies!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! That's a good one! Better than the original, too.

I have a theme song! So do a couple of my pals. It's what I want to be playing when I make a grand entrance in a room! Mine is Crazy in Love by Beyonce! Hers is Turn the Beat Around by Gloria Estefan. EVERYONE needs a theme song! I hereby declare Brian's to be Staying Alive.

I have to figure out what mine is! I have walked down the street to the beat of Stayin' Alive but I've done that with other songs too. Still, Stayin' Alive is one of the best because of how it's used in the movie. I will go listen to the Amazon sample for your theme song!

You would be sooooo sad if I did. You know it.

Probably so. :) But that's a lot of pressure to live up to. Most mornings, the only way people walking behind me would be singing Staying Alive is if they added questions marks to the end of it. ;)
