Six pairings I like
1. Obi-Wan/Anakin
2. Holmes/Watson
3. Blake/Avon
4. Starsky/Hutch
5. Kirk/Spock
6. Fraser/Vecchio
Three ships I've abandoned
(Though I never really abandon ships - they just lie dormant for awhile.)
7. Sirius/Severus
8. Aubrey/Maturin
9. Sparrow/Norrington
Three ships I've never liked
10. Aragorn/Legolas
11. Buffy/Angel
12. Skinner/Mulder
Two ships that have piqued my interest
13. Doctor/Rose (Doctor Who)
14. Napoleon Solo/Ilya Kuryakin
1. Why do you dislike #11 so much?
I can't say. I always thought it was the creepiness of a teen and a frigging 200 years old vampire. But considering my ship No #13, it shouldn't be just the age gap. Why I like Doctor/Rose, but not Buffy/Angel? It must be something in the character dynamics.
2. Who do you know that ships #13?
No one. I am so new to the pairing that I don't even know if any of my favourite fan authors from the other fandoms would have written anything Whovian.
3. What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?
Avon reluctantly doing something for the Revolution. Or... Avon, surprising himself, does not sell Blake and his revolutionary troops for the highes bidder when the occasion arises. Avon suffers for that (bring on the torture!), while Blake believes otherwise and blames Avon for his misfortunes.
4. What is your favourite moment for #1?
Hard to pick one. I guess I must say Vader/Kenobi fight in A New Hope.
5. How long have you been following couple #6?
Since 1998. That was when I first connected into internet. Due South became right after my Holmesian phase, and www.hexwood.com was the first website whose address I learned by heart.
6. What's the story with #8? What made you stop caring?
I haven't stopped caring! I completely love Aubrey/Maturin! But I have stopped searching fics to read and mulling over about story ideas. The pairing may be at its best in canon - not written open, free for speculation and interpretation.
7. Which ship do you prefer--#2 or #4?
Holmes/Watson or Starsky/Hutch. I couldn't give up either. They are different. S/H rather obvious, the canon overflowing with open touches and declarations of love - H/W more invisible, everything hidden between the lines in the canon.
8. You have the power to make one ship non-existent. Choose from #10 or #12.
Skinner/Mulder (rather that Aragorn/Legolas) that is. I can reason the background for Aragorn/Legolas attraction if I have to, but I just can't make Skinner/Mulder pairing function in my mind.
9. What interests you about #14?
Spies! Partners!
10. When did you stop liking #7?
When Sirius was killed. That character death somehow stiffled much of my interest in Harry Potter fics.
11. Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the series?
Other way round. For some reason the PotC sequels kind of put me off the fic. I don't believe this to be a permanent problem -- I never abandon any ship for good.
12. What's a song that reminds you of #5?
Swinging on a star (by Bruce Willis) - because of a song vid.
13. Which of these ships do you love the most right now?
Perhaps Starsky/Hutch. I am rather unattached, fandomwise, right now. At the moment I am not reading any of the ships I listed - only some Spike/Buffy and Bodie/Doyle.
14. Which do you dislike the most?
I'd stop reading Aragorn/Legolas.
15. If you could have any of these pairings double date, who would they be?
I'd like to have Kirk/Spock to meet Aubrey/Maturin on a deserted island.
16. Have #2 kissed yet? Elaborate if yes.
Nope. But they do live together.
17. Did #4 have a happy ending? Do you think one is likely?
Starsky and Hutch live happily ever after in fan fiction
18. What would make you start shipping #14?
The series on dvd. I'm easy.
19. If only one could happen, which would you prefer--#2 or #6?
The canon is closed in both cases. But I vote for Fraser/Vecchio. I am more inclined to see the whole Due South as an epic romance of a cop and a Mountie than I am to reduce the Holmesian canon into a love story.
20. You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?
Legolas never leaves Gimli's side, and Aragorn spends a lot of time as a hermit, and soon after accepting the crown he changes the constitution of Gondor, introducing elections and a Council of the People.
