Writer's Block: In a Former Life
Alright, I usually don't go in for this kind of "fluffy-bunny" garbage, but when I was really little i had a dream that had the absolute quality of a memory, to the point where I was shocked when I woke up in my own bed. I was about 5 I think when I had the dream, but in the dream I couldn't have been more than a year old. I was a little black baby swaddled in some coarse orange-red fabric on my mom's chest (who wasn't my "current" mom, mind you) in an open-air market somewhere in Africa I'm assuming. It was really dusty and everything felt warm and dry, and I think my mom was shopping, but I was too small to really be thinking about it. It was so real, and I wasn't really in the habit of studying African culture when I was 5, so I'm pretty sure it actually happened at some point. Strange, huh?
