This prompt was suggested by someone on Gaia and I gladly accepted the challenge. ;D
In the grand scheme of things, they weren't so different.
One of them was born a fighter, not afraid to get covered in Energon but, at the same time, he valued his appearance. The other came off as wealthy, a well-to-do bot..but he wasn't born into the life; he just knew how to play the role.
Both were attractive. Both found themselves far superior to the others amongst the Autobots.
But who was the best between the two of them?
Each had their good and bad qualities, they were different in some ways but alike in others. They were so alike in their views that it was hard to believe they weren't related.
So who was the best?
At some point, it had been a competition. Both competing to look the best, carry himself the best, impress the most bots. But something had changed along the way. Jealousy had given way to a grudging sort of admiration and then to full blown respect. Hateful glares turned to shared looks of silent praise and bitter words turned into disguised compliments. The rift between them began to bridge, much to the amusement of those around them, the two becoming valued comrades.
And then it because something else entirely. A gentle touch here, a soft caress there; the looks became softer, full of different emotions than before.
In time it became a bond, the pair devoting themselves to one another, becoming, in a sense, one with each others; their sparks forever entwined.
There was still an air of arrogance to them both, a sense of competition that would flare every once in awhile but at the end of it all both Sunstreaker and Tracks knew that they had already received the best reward they could ever hope to win.
And that was enough for them.
