UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE PLEASE READ THIS BIT
this is a lil review kinda on the game I posted on A-ENG
okays
Got this today from my dear papa through the post, have been playing it... well rather alot.
Its the first single player FF game since FFX (not counting X-2 since its a sequel).
And well, this time round its something to be excited about. This has got to be the first decent single player FF game since 9. (notice how i didnt mention 11, thats cause its awesome).
As far as numerically counting goes, the FF series is picking up again, after the downpoor of bullshit that X and X-2 were.
The combat system is a mix of FF11 (monsters are on the screen, will aggro you sometimes etc) and FF7( Uses a decent ATB system and is all blue and bubbly
)
The game itself is heavily influenced by FFTA as im sure you all know, its set in Ivalice. And theres a clan system, allthough it seems so far to merely side questy. IE: people post up monsters or things they need doing on a board in the pub, you as a "head hunter" seek out the monsters and claim the rewards, you get rank ups in the clan and are able to buy stuff from the clan Bazaa the more you rank up. Oh, and Montblanc the moogle is the clan leader
Equip/spell system is based on Licenses. each fight earns you licence points to spend on the license board. The license board is 2 chessboard like grids (but funny shapes) one for equipment and one for MAGICKS and TECHNICKS . its SIMILAR to FFX. for example. You pay might want to pay 25 points for the "Heavy Armour 1" license, that lets you were the 4 basic pieces of heavy armour, but upon doing so the squares adjacent to it unlock (not diagonals) , a Shield license becomes available, and Heavy armour 2 etc etc, and you progress like that.
Once you have the licence, you can equip the armour.
For spells, you buy the spell ONCE from the shop, and anyone who has the licence can use it.
Any questions, please as
