Went to (the) Bamboozle last Sunday with Meg. Really the sole reason we went was to see MGMT perform because a) we love them and their new album, and b) because of some rule that goes with performing at Bamboozle you're not allowed to play any private shows within the months before and after. SO we hocked up the money to go and drove off to New Jersey. There was plenty of traffic and we stopped at a Sonic first to fuel ourselves.

AT Bamboozle (I hate this name) we saw the Violens, who were pretty good, Francis and the Lights, who were great, Matt and Kim, who were fantastic like always (and played homages to some popular 90's songs), but before we could see MGMT, the last band of OUR night, Meg fainted. I feel a lot more affected by it now then I did at the time. She just kinda went limp and I tried to pull her out of the crowd and yelled out for somebody to give us a water bottle (stupid Bamboozle had some kind of rule against bottles, they'd pour the bottled water into tall cups) and for the most part the crowd was sympathetic and gave us room and one guy gave us a bottle. The paramedics came, hooked her up in a wheelchair thing, rolled her behind the stage (omg) then put her onto a stretcher and onto a little ambulance where we drove off to the medical tents. She recooperated and thankfully we caught the bulk of MGMTs set, so it wasn't a total cruel twist of fate.

HOWEVER, there was some contest to win two tickets to see MGMT perform on Letterman (the talk show) along with a performance afterwards and we both entered. And guess which pretty fainting girl won? Oh yes. It's like karma or something. She deserved to win.

HOWEVER HOWEVER, I was going to be in Florida with my mom for mother's day and I wouldn't be getting home until the 12th and the Letterman show was on the 11th. But luckily my dad and I sorted things out and now I'll be coming home early on the 10th.

I could not be more psyched.
