That was one of the stupidest things I have heard uttered in ages.
"If you pass this law, that means X amount of babies won't be born in the next year. Times that by X amount of year and that's 5 Million Potential Australians that we don't have" and then she later said: "If the law is past, we'll be in danger of becoming a Muslim country".
Yep, those sums all add up.
Sorry to break this to Donna but Islam sharen't exist in its current form in 50 years time. Neither will Christianity. Or Australia. Nor the Socio-Morality to which you ascribe be an existant.
The wrost part of it all is the hypocrisy of the whole debate.
The Government goes on and on about the Ideals of Democrisy and then it denies its Citizens Its most fundamental rights: Which is the Freedom of choice.
I won't say anything about abortion its self, because that is the farthest thing away from my Domain. Though to utter: most times it is not a sin but a saviour.
Also, to Ms. Vale. Do you think that those potential 5 million Australians will be happy living in orphanages? Or, even worse, loveless homes where the are abused and neglected?
That is all that I shall say on this matter, but futher commentary on ajoining subjects may be made.

Yeah. It's a thing that's been bothering me about the whole anti-abortion/Pro-choice thing for ages.
Compass did a good special on it last Sunday too.
The trouble with morality is it leaves people blind to the true social problems of an issue and does not allow them enough foresight or forethought to see what problems may be created further down the line. All they think is: "If I solve/do it now, they'll be the end of it".
Such as the Forced assimulation of Aboriginals into Anglo-Saxon culture, drug/alcohol laws and Zero Tolerance to Crime.
Oh, well.
As I now say: "The true folly of Humanity is that they are blind in a Bright World and also attempt to see within the Darkness".
