from melbourne last night with D. Man- what a trip, it was totally crazy, especially the first two days. We flew out at about 9:00am on Thursday and went pretty much straight to our hotel, then out for lunch with D's friend Suzi. LOL- she forgot she was meant to be meeting us, so we stood around for ages- but on the plus side, I got vox popped by the Herald Sun, bringing me to a total of three national newspapers that I have been in now! I'm pretty proud of myself :)
We did manage to catch up with Suzi for a little bit, had lunch, then walked over to Crown to catch Harry Potter (it was wonderful- sooooo much better than the book). Afterwards, we went to dinner at a Nepalese restaurant (which was wonderful) before heading back to the hotel for a lie down prior to Oasis.
The gig was pretty good in itself, but the venue sucked and the supporting band were terrible. The venue was overly hot (as in, un-ventilated, not just body heat), water was $4 and the seats were nothing but normal plastic seats lined up in rows. It was like going to the School Spectacular rather than a concert. Then, the little bastards in front of us started smoking, which I normally wouldn't bitch about other than the fact that a) they seemed to think they were Liam Gallagher's in the making, and b) it was so closely pressed in there that it was more unpleasent than usual. But Oasis were great, and D and I wound up standing at the back near an exit for fresh air.
Most of the weekend we spent with the parents at home, which was lovely and relaxing. I think it's been a good boost for us, now that we are officially counting down our last three weeks in the Can! So excited. Also, I bought an overly expensive, yet fantastic quality camera phone, so if any of you can receive pics let me know so I can sms them to you when we're in NZ or Melbs :)
PS. Looking for a new job is utterly depressing.
