It was a week after christmas but Masuda didn't care. He slowly approached the now bare tree and placed a single box underneath the tree.
"Maybe my teaching position here was a bad idea..."
He looked around at the empty campus. Sighing, the dance teacher dragged himself around the tree. "I probably will drink my sorrows away before the first day of school..."
Sitting around with a cup of hot cocoa, Junno heard more than he saw Massu coming to the tree. Seeing his friend looking so down, he got up and walked to him.
Massu was startled to see that someone else was in the room. "Ah gomen. I didn't notice you were here Junno.". He sat down next to the tall sensei and sighed. "It's just kind of sad how Kurogin seems to be falling apart. And I was really looking forward to this teaching job..."
Junno smiled. "It's okay, I come here to read or simply watch the tree. I don't have the heart to put it down yet."
Sighing, he watched around. The place seemed to be full of students, but now... "Yeah, it really is sad. I remember when I first came in Kurogin, there were so many people... I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. I would never have guessed we would come down to this."
Massu nodded an look up at the huge majestic fir tree. "If only we could some recruit some more students and become teachers in charge here.". Massu scratched his head. "Its hard to start classes without a principal as well."
"I tried to talk to the principal, but he seems to be really busy. So I guess it's up to us to keep everything in line until we find a solution."
Thinking of something, Junno tilted his head and hummed thoughtfully.
"Maybe we should make some kind of classes for the remaining students, what do you think? To keep them busy a bit. They all seem rather depressed by the lack of activity, and after all some of them have exams at the end of the year."
Half-running to the nearest table, Junno grabbed a pen and a paper, blessing his idea of writing some letters earlier in the day. When he came back to where his friend was sitting, he smiled.
"There, let's make a list of what we should do! We could also prepare some kind of class trip, what do you think?"
Massu clapped his hand with glee. "A class trip, a great idea! Someone educational yet fun."
Massu asked for the pen before writing a bunch of ideas down. "Maybe a trip to a historical place or we could travel to the countryside and enjoy nature while talking about the environment and being eco-friendly."
He gave Junno a huge grin. "Now I'm excited!" ^__^
Thinking, he stood up and began to pace in the wide empty room. "Hmmm, the countryside travel seems good, that would teach them a bit of real life maybe... The historical one can be done if we perfectly know about the place, or else I'm afraid that hiring a guide will be expensive. Maybe we could go to the seaside also! Trying to teach them some boat-sports!"
He was starting to get really excited by those ideas too.
Massu grinned. "If we go to the sea, it would be cold at this time, right?"
Massu pondered a bit. "Maybe to an onsen? Camping style to a degree of course. Kind of how it was back then when we went to our own high school's school trip."
"Oh yeah, I remember those kind of trip. Once it was so freezing that we had to sleep all together, stuck against each other. That was fun but not really easy for sleeping."
He kept on pacing, smiling. "The onsen is a good idea. We could try a food-related excursion too, ne?"
