Yesterday i had Jim from Scarsdale over. Was fun! After he spent Friday nite getting much needed sleep, we went to the Davis Farmers Market the next day. He enjoyed himself more than i thought, which was great, buying a t-shirt, delicious and huge and cheap crossants, some wooden flower pot holder/hangar, and fresh berries. He wore the farmers market tshirt all day. We then went to San francisco, where I haven't been since i went with my family when i was in elementary school, excluding the alcatraz trip recently.

After fixing the car at an auto shop and getting information at the palladium (sp?), we parked on a steep hill, walked down to and along, fisherman's wharf, caught up after 5 years, saw some sea lions, looked at this Faneuil Hall wanna-bee market, avoided eating Boston-wanna bee clam chowder (though i still had crab salad in a sordough bowl... neither was particularly good), saw the civic center which apparently is a building whose foundations float on an inch of water or something, hopped on a trolley for a few blocks and got off before paying (fun!), took another trolley and paid this time (still fun!), drove through the park, then went to Haight Ashbury or something: the hippy street. I had my mullet and facial hair, he the davis farmers shirt and a red bandana, so we were literally immediately offered to buy a joint. Yay california. The hippy street was as you'd expect: a few tibet-themed shops, lots of old bearded people in varing states of mental decay, and so on and so forth. Surprisingly the restaurants closed early, but we found a Meditteranean food place that had great stuffed grape leaves and the best falafel I have ever tasted: huge, green, and very soft; as opposed to those hard and crunch on the outside and dry on the inside falafel you get almost everywhere else. They even put my mom's to shame, and she has a similar recipe.

By the end of a long day (we litterally spent the whole day in San Fran), he drove back, taking a brief nap ina gas station. We were both sapped of energy, so sleep was good. this morning he left, but my roommates haven't returned yet so I'm lonely by myself. The cat is not good company: he meowed all night, the bastard.

One week till i have to move. tonight i should go see the new apartment and decide once and for all if it's worth trying to escape the lease.
