(no subject)
So, my aunt gave me the book "The Secret" as part of my birthday present this morning. Apparently, it's #2 in Amazon sales, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. Never have I come across a book that took 198 pages to say the same damn useless thing over and over again (like every sentence). To put the book into a nutshell in a way that unfortunately only Mark will understand, every phrase is a variation on "want the tomato." I read a few lines out of it but had to stop because I kept thinking "I was a prisoner of my own fear...then one day I looked through the mirror!" I wouldn't be all that surprised if Rhonda Byrne ran a "secret" kiddie porn ring out of her mansion too. Whether or not the ideas are worthwhile, the execution is horrifyingly cult-like for my tastes.
