(no subject)
hi, my name is kim, and i am addicted to embroidery.
seriously, though, it's so fun. it's like drawing with thread, only i am good at this, and not so good at drawing. hurrr.
current projects:
- hand maps. (of the hands of family members, telling stories about a person)
- hand drawn maps printed on the industrial printer.
- "doodle" series. (friend drawings)
- some samples, mola, beading, applique, etc.
- embellishing a mushroom batik i did a while back.
- bryan's bike that needs a smidge of finishing touches because i am a perfectionist.

seriously, though. i had the idea about a month or so ago, that any and every acquaintance of mine should send me drawings to be embroidered. i need a more substantial amount of drawings to work with right now, so i can get something cohesive going. you really can draw me anything. anything!
the ideal end product of this is to have "x" amount, say a dozen, embroideries to display in a series, all approximately the size of your average sheet of printer paper. each one will be drawn by a different person, but all will be embroidered by me. everyone will get credit for their work, and i do plan on trying to get this into a show. right now i've only looked into the belmont and the U245, but of course i will be looking elsewhere as well, when the time comes.
this is something i am really excited about, and i got a handful more of drawings today, and i am really excited about them! thanks to matt, tim, aaron, steph, and juli! (and kasia and tom)
i'll update on the rest of my life later. right now i need to study for an absurd business practices exam.
