I just heard on Glenn Beck that it takes $1.25 to make $1.00 of corn ethanol.
Wow. I already knew it was a sucky plan, but now I have an ounce of proof. =)
Yay, high food prices for plans automatically doomed to fail financially.
EDIT: I should probably add that I'm not at all opposed to alternate fuel sources; corn ethanol, however, was a poorly devised plan that could, and indeed is already beginning to, have serious global consequences - and of course, the politicians just jumped right on the bandwagon without a second thought, because "everyone was doing it, [they] just wanted to be cool." (I love Bender)
