Upgrade!
Emboldened bymarkgritter, I've upgraded my Toshiba netbook to Ubuntu 12.04. I like it, it seems peppier, but has what I call problems, and others refer to as 'issues'.
No orange screen, but a black one.
I repeatedly receive the sad news, via popup screen, that 'precise' is no longer under development. Don't know what the import of this is, but bet I do soon.
It is now able to reach the printer. The cleaning lady unplugged the hub. I don't hold ubuntu responsible for this, nor for the 24 hrs that it took me to figure out what was wrong.
My chron-tab mailbots work perfectly. I haven't been able to get them to work on a Mac for several years, but they are humming along on ubuntu 12.04 very nicely. Go Ubuntu!
I'm having a lot of fun. I'm a guy who enjoys debugging code as much as writing it, and there's a lot of stuff to do here.
