The moment Akihiko entered his apartment he knew something was wrong, and it wasn't long before he realized what. "Misaki!" he cried and rushed over to his lover, who was currently sitting on the floor near the stairs, head on his knees and hands clutching his left ankle.

"Ah, Usagi-san," Misaki acknowledged, lifting his somewhat unfocused eyes to look at the author. "Welcome back."

"What happened?" Akihiko demanded. "Did you hurt you leg?"

Misaki nodded shakily. "Yeah, I was rushing down the stairs to answer the phone, but then I slipped and fell… I twisted my ankle pretty bad, I think. I can't stand up by myself."

Akihiko shook his head and held Misaki's hands, removing them from the hurting ankle. "When did all of this happen?"

Misaki shrugged, twisting his hands in Akihiko's grip, but not really resisting. "About… two hours ago."

Akihiko blinked stupidly at him. "Why… Misaki, why the hell didn't you call to let me know?"

Misaki looked away. "I wanted to, at first, but then I figured you'd probably come rushing home and… look at this weather, Usagi-san. It's raining pretty heavily, I didn't want you to… like my parents…"

Akihiko smiled tenderly at his younger tenant, then held him close, burying his face in his brown hair. "Don't let that worry you, Misaki. I have no intention of going anywhere as long as I have you."

"…Idiot," Misaki mumbled, but let himself be held. Both of them knew it was a lie, but as the rain pounded the windows outside, neither of them wanted to let go of the heat of the other.
