Just saw V for Vendetta. Only really strong words synonymous with "freakin' awesome" can be used to describe this movie. So wonderfully, wonderfully entertaining. And beautiful. And funny. And tweaked. And beautiful gets listed again. And so not something I really thought could be playing in this country right now. And the line to get in was out the door and twisted back and looped around. And that was the second line to the 10 p.m. showing with all previous and all later showings sold out. I am tempted to track down the screenplay and see if they used the word 'victory' once in the entire film, 'cause I kinda think they didn't, and if not, it had to be a concious ommission. Also the voices were hot.
Would like to add that at the movie about the knife-wielding freedom fighter I found a deer knife under my seat. Which is just beyond great, and means one of two things. One: I have been CHOSEN as superheroic vigilante, and by tomorrow night I will have vanished into the shadows whence I shall every more dispense swift, brutal, and anonymous justice. Two: I am being framed, and by tomorrow night I will have vanished into a high-security prison. Either way, this is the last any of you will ever hear from me.
The rest of today was pretty great too. Amusing conversation with Dad this morning in which he totally approved of my plan to go hang gliding in Australia and reminisced about that powered glider he almost bought a few years back. Then met up with Dani and Rachel at the piercing parlor. Finally got the navel piercing more or less right, and Pete asserts that it can be trained to heal all in line and good-like. Also got three new rings in the left ear, which I like a lot. Am quite perforated, and the current piercing plan is approaching completion. Pete has regained all the points he lost over the bar no-show by saying he loves costume parties and directly apologizing for standing us up and requesting another chance to hang out. After piercing, went to Iggy's and Pirate Mike was working. He remembered us, which was fun, and promised to also remember to put us on his bartending schedule email list this time.
Great fucking day. So pleased.
