So I just purchased my plane tickets for Australia. On the one hand, I paid $200 less than I expected I'd have to even in my best case budgeting scenario. Just as an aside, the International Dateline is even more confusing than it is cool. And on the other hand, fucking hell ( Read more... )

a few weeks ago at work, we needed to figure out what time it was in Australia so we could call some person there.

i checked on the internet, and (it seemed!) that they were about ten or so hours behind us.

But then, lo and behold, I learned that they were in fact some hours ahead of us, and it was already the next day.

We spend about ten minutes marveling at the fact that it was the next day there. The Dateline is indeed Magical. I hope, some day, to meet it.

As an aside, you should read Sex Lives of Cannibals for some interesting insight as to south pacific airlines. :D

Then you must either provide me a mailing address for CD shipments. Or perhaps I'll hold the music hostage and we can arrange an exchange of these groovy tunes for a certain bottle of rum...
