The lesson of the day is

12 hours with my mother and sister in a confined space is too long.

I hate Hollister, I hate Abercrombie and Fitch, I hate (mildly less because I actually shop there) American Eagle. It is not necessary to be assholes to your customers in order to get them to buy things. Most people are not masochists. You can turn down the music and turn up the professionalism in all three of those locations. And please, if you are 16, don't talk down to me. I have several years of learning life lessons the hard way more than you.

Thank goodness my abysmal mood was lifted by the purchase of these fabulous shoes.

I saw Dreamgirls. My mother, in her ability to have a negative perspective on almost everything that I like, spent an hour talking about how it was subpar. I loved it. Its a spectacle. I love musicals. And yes, I love Beyonce.

I couldn't fall asleep last night until around 5 am. Partly because of the wind screaming around my windows and barreling trash cans down the street, but also because my mind was too full. I think I know what I want, the hard part is just getting it.

I've also been reading a lot lately. Water for Elephants is really interesting, but maybe that's just me and my strange fascination with freaks and shows of all sorts (its about the circus). Under the Red Panda is the best book I've ever read about teen suicide, which sounds odd, but I've read a few and they all come off trite. This at least took the subject with an sarcastic grain of salt.
