Super Facepalm Finish! KO!!
"I think the thing that really holds the street fighter series back are these stupid power bars and charge moves. The thing that I always liked about other fighters (killer instinct, MK, ect) is that I could pull off special moves consistantly because they only required a directional motion+button. And THAT'S IT.
Now back in the golden age of sf (sfII) this was the case as well, but now, you have specials with extra power, gauges that make your special do something different, and "ultra" specials that require retardedly long directional input and button presses to do them, so retarded that sfiv added the "all three kick" and "all three punch" buttons to make it easier.
And let's face it, if you use a character that uses charge based moves you are at a serious disadvantage. While I can throw three ryu fireballs one after another, I have to wait 2-3 secs between each guile sonic boom because I have to stupidly charge to do the move. Why the charge? Why not just back/forward punch? And if you are using a character taht lunges forward via a charge (balrog, bison, vega, blanka, ect) then forget it, you are dead. I won't even go into how unrealistically hard it is to do a "ultra" charge move.
And then on top of all of this, you have these stupid gauges that make it impossible to just do an ultra at anytime. You have to keep track of them while fighting and then do the move. It's just too much for your eyes to process in a heated match.
I can do the ultras with realitive ease in challenge mode, but find them useless in a fight because when I have the opportunity to do such a long directional combo my guage isn't full!
So my message to capcom is less is more. Remove the combos and make the "ultra" combos work automatically when the ultra gauge is full and you do the regular special move motion. Oh and having dedicated throw specials is stupid as well. Hard punch against an opponent worked back in the day and it can now."
...because why practice something when you can bitch and whine? I, along with many many others, have no problem pulling off any of this stuff because we actually put the time in and practice it. These people need to go back to playing Gears of War and leave my fightan gaems alone.
