Oh my holy fucking lord!!
I mean Oh... gosh...

Today was a momentous day. Yes, it nearly sucked all remaining life force out of me. But today, I completed a miserable weekend take-home final in a core course that puts my credits over the required number and I turned in my (fantastically crappy and underachieving) write-up of my master's project (which still requires much more work and analysis before even thinking of publication). Underwhelmation aside, the fact remains:
I have fulfilled all necessary requirements to obtain my M.A. in Clinical Psychology.
Holy shit, that's exciting. It really means nothing in the grand scheme of things besides my ability to put an extra two letters on my email signature or request slightly more pay, should I decide to dump this PhD rigamorole. But damn, somehow it still feels good. If anticlimactic given the other minor crap-tasks on slate for the week.
Yee haw. I'm gonna go get me a beer. Or 5.
In other totally random news: I was unloading from my car in the parking garage last night, on my way to yet another looong weekend night of relentless work, when I see a guy walk through from the corner. On the phone with my mom at the time, I think to myself, "That looks like Phil Hausm**n." As he walks closer, I realize, "That IS Phil Hausm**n." He's also getting his PhD here, and sings Gregorian chants for extra money on the weekends. We exchanged numbers. Last weekend, I also went to party to meet up with a visiting-from-out-of-town acquaintance, at which I was connected to the two hosts through two different ways (not related to the way I know the acquaintance), and ran into someone else I knew from one of those circles there. Small f-ing world.
