I had sworn off real live-journal updates, but I thought this was fairly important so I'll go ahead and post it.
On my last update I asked the question: Could life get any better? Well, it certainly could indeed. I will list what has been going on as of late and you will see what I mean.
First and most importantly, my dad has been in the hospital for a week and a half. He was admitted the Monday before last with heart arrhythmia. That means his heart gets out of rhythm. They admitted him and did a lot of tests and it turns out he has a very rare disorder called Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia or ARVD. You may not have heard of it, but it is what causes young, otherwise healthy athletes to drop dead of sudden cardiac death. His cardiologist had only seen it three times she's been in medicine and Cabell wasn't equipped to deal with it, so he was flown to John Hopkins this Monday. They were excited to get him because they usually only find this is dead people. So my 41 year old father will have to get a pacemaker and some other kind of heart device and won't be able to do anything strenuous unless he wants to die. And if that doesn't work, then he's looking at a heart transplant. The other good news is there is a 1 in 4 chance that I have this as well so I will have to get tested for it.
On a lighter note, I absolutely hate my job. I basically do all the work in that store myself. For example, we are in the middle of rearranging the store. Guess who has done nearly every move? If you said me, then you are absolutely correct! It also seems I get the dumbest and the craziest people in the land, and other people have said so. I get hit on by every homeless, obese, mentally ill, handicapped, toothless man that comes into the store. It really does wonders for your self-esteem.
I don't like to complain so much, but things haven't been going very well lately and sometimes you just have to whine a little.
