Jordan and I were talking the other day about how most people just do, like, one or two things, most of the time. Nobody really varies their routine that much, even most of the ones who claim they do.
Somewhat related is the question: better to be jack of all trades, or master of one? I always kind of assumed master of one, because it's the people who get really deep into their fields that end up pushing the boundaries and making new discoveries, but recently I've been thinking there's probably also benefits to be reaped for someone with the 'big picture' background of an interdisciplinary database of knowledge. I also can't decide which is cooler.
And a little somethin' for the kids:
jodamn: did you leave me voicemail?
a modern evil: i don't think so
jodamn: well it's marked urgent
jodamn: no one else does that
jodamn: maybe it's the girl from 'the ring' calling
jodamn: you know, after i saw 'the ring'
jodamn: how she's supposed to call
jodamn: so you know you're going to die
a modern evil: hahahahahahahaha
jodamn: well, obviously, i didn't get signal
jodamn: but that would certainly be 'urgent'
