Poetry...it's an Art

Poetry is a part of who I am. For some it's driving fast or playing games, but for me it's stringing lines together and seeing what may come. There was a time in my life when everything fell apart so completely I couldn't find myself. Sometimes there are unanswered questions and for the most part I don't think they will ever be answered. For me it is like time has shattered and the pieces are never going to be put together again. When I wrote this poem I wondered...

If you knew how much I loved you would it matter?

Worlds revolve around the thought that one day
you might say
which way
the threads of my hope may
sway.

Gossamer lines define
what might be mine,
but without further ado
it can only happen if it is you.

Sands run and time folds.
It is hard to hold
my sanity slips and turns cold.
Where in this world
can we unfurl
the thought, that line that can never be defined?

If you knew how much I loved you, if it really mattered,
would my heart shatter at the thought of losing you?
Or given time
would you be mine.
