New History Shows
Recently, it seems that all the good history channel shows are either canceled or moved to history international: Dogfights, Human weapon, Ancient Discoveries (when they weren't glossing over the cool stuff to focus on some stupid thing and repeating themselves over and over...), etc.
However, I have hopes for Warriors! and Battles BC.
Battles BC is based off the documentary they did for 300. And it shows, what with Hannibal suddenly being a huge bald man with two over-sized kukuris. However, the narration for the show is accurate, and the over the top scenery is amusing.
The Warriors episode on the Maya sadly didn't go as much into weapons and armor as I wanted, but the discussion about Mayan culture is pretty cool as well.
