The conference was very good - a new experience for me, but a good one to have. I got a lot of information and met a lot of people. We had seven main sessions and four smaller group sessions (seven plenary sessions and four breakout sessions, to use the official lingo) all in two and a half days, so there was a LOT of information. I am still processing the whole thing in a way. I'll have to give you a more clear update on that later.
We were planning to leave partway through Saturday afternoon, miss the last session, and make it home by late Saturday night. But we got walloped with a huge snow storm Saturday, starting mid-morning, so we decided not to chance the drive. And when I say a big storm, I mean it - living right on the edge of a lake-effect area here I've seen some and at Calvin we were right in the middle of the lake-effect snow. It was crazy! So we stayed the extra night there - the conference people were nice enough to put us up in their really nice conference center, so we didn't have to spend another night on the floor in the dorms - and left early Sunday morning. It was still a ten hour drive (about an hour and a half longer than on the way out there) so we didn't get home till five p.m. but by God's grace we all got home in one piece. Thank you for the prayers! Even though I didn't get as much homework done tonight as I should have and I didn't get enough rest over the weekend in general, I am gald I went. It was a good experience and I learned a lot of good things, as well as finishing it off with a really long deep conversation with my wonderful roommate Cassie (who I am very glad went with me!).
That's it for now - good night all!
