WARNING: fearful Snape-fan awaits book #7

In less than five days, my heart may break for a character who only exists in Harry Potter books, and I am going to be depressed. This is a rant, so don't read if you're already feeling low.

I have to fully agree on your assesment of the way the Gryffindors treat the Slytherins. I think that's one bad thing I can say about JKR. Instead of teaching us that its not all about looks when it comes to how good or bad people can be, she's feeding the myth about bad people are not so attractive.

Look at Sirius Black. He was supposed to be a looker when he was young, and look what a jerk he was. But do we see JKR going into detail about his wrong doings? No. I mean, did I miss something or did she just chose to leave out what the punishment was for nearly getting Snape killed in school?

I'm hopefully that in the end, she'll not kill Snape off and reveal that he really was working for the good side. But I'm not going to hold my breat on his living. If she allows him to in fact be a villain in the end, then she will have really let me down because she's taken so much time making us think he is bad, only to actually make him bad? No clever twist? No "Ha fooled you non believers?"

I guess we'll just have to see. Not long of a way though.
