[Gosh darn Persona kids, standing in the Slayer's way when she's trying to patrol. Buffy, distracted by what might have been a suspicious shadow across the town centre, was on the move.

Unfortunately for her--and for the young man in her way--she wasn't so aware of her more immediate surroundings. BAM. Hi, Yosuke. A petite blonde with a battle axe just walked into you.]

[BAM. And he is knocked completely backwards onto his ass--!]

What the-- [and he notices the weaponry] Is that an axe?!

[slaying]

[Slightly dazed, Buffy steps back. The axe in question hanging from her hand. Oh, better do something about that. With reflexes that finally caught up with her thoughts, she pulls the weapon behind her back, trying to hide it.]

What? No. Why would anyone ever have an axe? Well, except for the fact that I clearly do have one but that's because--[quick Slayer, think!]--It's not real! It's a prop axe. For...a play. Yeah. A play about axes.

[if this were happening to anyone but him, he'd be laughing at how stupid that sounded.

but since it's happening TO him, he just looks dumbstruck. Or disbelieving. more disbelieving.]

Yeah, why not? I mean, so they're not like the main character or anything. But they're there. [Maybe trying to back away. Jeez, Buff. Get a grip.]

[Yeah. She never was great with the lies. Thank goodness for Sunnydale that she's better at slaying than she is fibbing. Well, except for the part where Sunnydale's now a crater. Damn.]

You...don't buy it, then?

Not even for a second.

[slaying]

[So let's play it a different way, then? Reverse psychology?]

Well--would you buy that I'm basically a superhero and so battle axes are totally my thing?

Like some kind of viking superhero?

[slaying]

Think about it, mister. Do I even look anything remotely like a viking? Or a superhero? [She has a point. She's only five foot three and pretty lacking in the muscley department. But there was still the big fat axe-shaped question mark.]

... You can't expect me to believe the axe-play bit though. Come on.

[Okay. She'll go with something that isn't quite a lie but just enough of one to confound the truth.]

I'm moving it, that's all. I recently moved and I'm moving this, too. Y'know, always a good thing to have beneath your bed. Just in case.

[Which makes her sound more than a little crazy but still less crazy that the whole vampire-slaying bit.]
