The Mayfield Character Questionnaire
Character: [The Captain!]

What does your character really think of the family role they've been forced to assume? Do they go along with it or not, and to what extent?

The girl is cute, totally doable. But The Captain really doesn't want to deal with or know how to handle kids. His parents were not good examples of what to do.

If you had to place your character into any other pre-existing family unit, which would it be?

Actually I have no good answer for this. The Captain doesn't really stay at home much and even then he is fun to interact in any setting. I guess anything but all drones.

Out of non-canonmates, has your character met any others in Mayfield they could consider good friends?

Margot! So far she has been a stand in Tabitha. Also Scout is a good buddy who probably is too nice to The Captain.

How have they changed in Mayfield? Has it been for better or for worse?

The Captain so far has kinda regressed. He is going back to being a useless self destructive alcoholic. With rare glimpses of the hero he kinda became. Without powers and without a clue he kind of just is a miserable waste at times.

What's been your character's least favorite and most favorite Mayfield moments?

His least favorite was falling from his second story window. His most favorite so far is calling out the twins though that might change very soon.

What's a typical day at work in Mayfield like for your character? If they go to school, what's that like? And if it's neither, tell us about their day in general.

The Captain so far hasn't realized he had a job, that's going to be an issue real, real soon.

What would it take to get your character to agree to stay in Mayfield for the rest of their lives?

To make an ally who was capable and willing to push him to be a better person. Without someone to push him he loses motivation fast. With someone pushing him though he may stick around just to see what's next.

Your character is given a choice: by agreeing to flip a coin, they are able to send any one person of their choice to their home world permanently (to never be brought back to Mayfield). The catch is that if it lands on heads, your character gets trapped in Mayfield permanently. But if it's tails, they can go home, too. If they choose not to flip the coin and risk it, though, nobody goes home. Does your character take the chance? Who would they send home if they could?

While drunk: Yes. While sober: Yes but with a more defeated attitude.

How does your character treat drones? Are they hostile, friendly, or indifferent towards them?

He hasn't quite figured them out yet. He considers them like the fake people from his cannon. He avoids them and if they get too pushy he may end up killing one not considering them human.

How many times has your character been droned, if at all?

Zero! I am waiting for it!

Has your character ever died in Mayfield? More than once? How did it happen?

Once so far. In his defense he was very drunk at the time. Sealand got him excited about his lost ability to fly and suggested using the roof. That ended with him puking, falling off the roof and breaking his neck. The Captain does not remember this.

If your character had to choose to bring one person from their own world to Mayfield, who would it be?

Tabitha! She always knows what to do. She used to be a member of the Avengers and will tell you about it all the time. Also he needs a strong willed leader.

Does your character care particularly about figuring out a way to go home? To what degree?

He really wants to find a way home. It's easy for him to give up and admit defeat though he is still convinced we all need to kill Beyond to get home.

Mayfield's events can be anything from traumatizing to hilarious. Which event so far has had the greatest effect on your character?

Haven't had one yet.

If your character could be the Mayor of Mayfield for a day, what would they do? 'Send everyone home' is not an option.

Drink himself into a coma during the celebration. Probably waking up in time to find out he wasn't the Mayor anymore and just assuming it was a bad/good dream.

Finally, your character is locked in a windowless, doorless room for 24 hours with Grady and three objects. What are those three objects, and what occurs in those 24 hours?

Wow, if any of those three objects are not booze he eventually tries to hit Grady. Gets confused about the droning and probably doesn't put two and two together until the fifth attack on Grady. If there is any booze he drinks himself stupid.
