Are these zombies actually dead or just infected with a virus?

They're actually dead! The virus kills them, then revives them as a zombie.

Okay. Death in canon is able to release souls from their bodies and get stop zombies that way.

Would he be able to do that here? /he has his scythe already

He'd be able to kill zombies that way, but he wouldn't be able to cure them!

This...won't work on the drone zombies though. /cough what souls

He doesn't so much ...cure them ...as help them into the afterlife. So that's fine. :D

He is going to be very suspicious about the drones not having souls after this.

'Help' them.
Susan will gleefu -- respectfully be stabbing any zombies she comes across straight through the soul and then lecturing them before they fade away for how idiotic they were for getting themselves bit.

Slugger would like to witness this for himself.

A family that kills together stays together.

Consider it a "Take Your Child To Work Day".

Are zombies affected by ice or cold temperature?

[icon sort-of related]

Cold temperature won't do much, but freezing them in a block of ice or something like that will temporarily halt them (unless it's a player zombie that has the ability to get themself out of that situation).

A question! What about someone with a genetic mutation of their own? Daniel's cuttlefish mutation is active -- his physiology is still in flux, even if it has slowed down quite a bit from the initial introduction of cuttlefish DNA. If he were bitten, would that extra openness to mutation have an effect on how quickly he zombified/how the disease manifested?

Nope! This virus comes from a universe full of mutants, after all.

THIS IS MAYBE A DUMB QUESTION BUT: what if you are organic because you are technically a tree (bark for skin, bleeds treesap, the works)? Is it safe to assume that if you aren't made of meat, you're immune? Inquiring minds want to know!

Haha, I'll leave this one up to the player!
