If you're in the NYC area, you should plop down $5 this Friday to hear me read at
Earshot in Brooklyn. I'll be reading 'Grace,' 'The Dual,' and a never before published (nor performed) piece called 'A Life in Ambles.' The fun starts at 8pm and, for the price of admission, you get a free drink.
Also...on Saturday night, there will be all sorts of shenanigans that will be lasting all evening and into the morning hours. I'm dressing as a flapper. You don't want to miss that. Call me for details or e-mail me at carissa DOT halston AT gmail DOT com.
And my semester is so close to being over that I can practically taste it. The results are trickling in...thus far, here are the totals:
Playwriting: A+
Urban Epidemics, from TB to AIDS: A+
Illustration: Will find out tomorrow
American Dialects (linguistics class): Nothing short of an A, that much is certain
So, hooray. This semester was long, and arduous during some parts, but I was able to get a great deal of other work done and I even had a job for part of it. But I'm looking forward to taking a year off of school and hope to make strides in my own work, including the Portraiture tour and other readings.
21 days before the move...I'm off to send a submission and mail at Etsy order.
