Last Friday of Summer?

Sep 04, 2009 19:35

Hi, everyone!

It's the last Friday of summer. Next Wednesday it's back to school. I have my supplies. I have new sneakers. They're low-rise and they look sorta like Converses except a different brand and cheaper and they're purple, yay! I have a binder for my folders since they all fell apart last year rattling around in my backpack. Three of them have kittehs on them! And they were cheaper than the solid color ones! Kitteh FTW!

But anyway. It's the last Friday of summer, so it's kinda sad. Of course, my twelve-year-old brother, Mr. Technicality, says technically it's not the last Friday of summer since summer doesn't end until well into September. But he can shut up since my other nickname for him is "Nimrodish Lad." :P

I don't know where summer went. It's lost somewhere in this couch I always sit on so I've dented it, on the Internet, in Sahara Valley, and OHMIGOD I CAN'T WAIT FOR "iCarly" NEXT FRIDAY WOAH!! Sorry, things like that happen when I post and watch TV at the same time. But seriously, I like iCarly. Actually, most of the shows I watch are on Disney or Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network, due to an excess of Small Children. Like, one of my favorite shows is Phineas & Ferb on Disney. I swear, it's the last really good show on Disney since they moved Kim Possible to 2 AM. Siiigh. If you don't watch Phineas & Ferb you really ought to, it's about these two brothers who do all these crazy things like build roller coasters and be one-hit wonders somehow avoiding attention of their parents while their older sister relentlessly tries to prove that they do all these crazy things. *cough* I indentify with her greatly.

ANYWAY. My rants on TV aside. I did some playing the other day, growing people up and getting people permaplat so they'd stop annoying me with either their piddly Pleasure Sim wants or by rolling up wants inappropriate to their aspirations. I got Mimi and Simon permaplat so I can FINALLY ignore their stupid +500 wants to take a freaking bubble bath. By the way, the flu and the cold seems to be making its rounds around Sahara Valley, two households got sick from stuff at work. How does my game know autumn's approaching? Or somehow it knows swine flu is OMGZ SRS BIZNIZ again and I had either a cold or allergies earlier this week. That sucked.

Also I grew people up. Knox is a teen now, and he grew up surprisingly hot. I chose Romance for him, for several reasons. a) I don't have that many Romance Sims running around. b) He's going to college with the I kids, his cousins, so there won't be any inappropriate heart-farts or icky wants, thank you very much. *glares at Baron* c) He just gave off a heartbreaker vibe to me, I dunno. The other aspiration he would have been would be Pleasure like his parents, but I can't take many more Pleasure Sims, I'm sorry. Fred was easy since I could ignore his wants pretty quickly, but Mimi was torture. As much as I love her, it was just SO hard to get her platinum and keep her there. By the way, speaking of teens, I LOVE TEEN STYLE STUFF! Seriously, it would own my soul if I hadn't given that away already. I'm pretty sure either the Internet or the Sims took it years ago. Oh, and also I was at the mall today getting my shoes, and two things: a) We have an H&M, and I fangirl'd.

Me: "OMG WOAH WE HAVE AN H&M!!!"
My Brother: "How come the mannequins are silver and have no heads?"
Me: "LOOK, IT'S AN H&M!!!"

And b) The console version of Sims 3 sucks even worse than the actual game. We were in the Apple store and they had the game on iPhones, and using the touch screen is SO DAMN HARD AND ANNOYING ARGH! But the PC game for "Wall-E", a movie I LOVED, by the way, is extremely awesome and the graphics eat your face. Yeah.

So anyway. More about Knox. He's not a really awful Romance Sim, actually. He wants to be a Pro Party Guest, which I thought fit him to a T, and Draco's gonna kill me because I made Scorpia Knox's first kiss. Um, and make-out. Yeah. If Draco comes around looking for me, possibly revving a chainsaw, you didn't see me. I'm sorry! She was the only teen girl to show up! And, uh, I didn't want her to go around without being kissed or something. And it's not like she cares, she's a Fortune Sim. And she didn't put up much resistance either. They had two bolts with unmatching turn-ons, so maybe that's why.

Also I spent a lot of time in another house, but I'm afraid I can't say whose. And I shoot a HUGELY important future scene at the same house. This scene's been planned since like Generation F, so it was so cool to finally do it! I think it came out AWESOME, better than I ever envisioned it. But it's for way far in the future, so you don't have to mind it for now. "So Long and Good Night", my demolition lovers.

So anyway. Riddle me this: How come everyone in Sahara Valley stalks Mimi's house? I swear, I was playing her all the way in Bluewater Village and it was SCARY how many past spares and their spouses wandered on by. Celestina, Carlotta (who remains so pretty it ought to be illegal), Marsha, Abe's wife (TWICE!), Ginny came home from work with Mimi once...I just stopped looking after awhile. Hey, guys, I hardly ever see you ever, especially Cel. This is the first time I've seen her out and about since I moved her in. Which doesn't fit her celebrity-esque character AT ALL, she should always be out and about! And Carlotta as well, I've seen her once Downtown, and that was when I was out with Knox, which is so not a coincidence, and once at the family store. Marsha shows up for welcome wagons, but still! Twice in like a week in Sim time! Something is wrong.

So! 2 little pictures, hope you don't mind, f-list.

So long, last Friday of summer. Hello, unfortunately, school.

Oh, and one more thing...

Just who...

...are you?

The following is a little something I've been working on for the future. It's so sweet. Many pronouns to prevent spoilers. So enjoy...

He was a little late getting to class, so there was only one seat left. Fortunately, it was right in the front, where he always liked to sit. He sat down at the table.

The teacher hadn't arrived yet, and the handful of students in the AP class were milling around talking. He'd always been shy and just sat.

He noticed a binder, a notebook, and a pencilcase sitting by the sit next to him. He wondered who sat there, and if they'd get along. He'd hate to sit next to someone he didn't like all year. He looked around nervously, and didn't think anyone was watching, so he slowly opened the binder. All he needed was a name, an interest, something to strike up conversation.

Inside the binder, which was bright red, were two folders with kittens on them. Tucked into one of the folders was an address, presumably the owner's dorm, and a library card. In pretty script was a name...

"Hey, that's mine," laughed a girl's voice.

He jumped and quickly closed the binder. "Sorry. I was just..." At that moment he looked up and couldn't talk anymore.

He was looking into the face of a girl, but no ordinary girl. The most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. She was smiling the widest, brightest smile possible, reaching all the way to her storm cloud-gray eyes. Flashes of laughter lit them up like forks of lightning. She looked at him through bright red glasses, and her hair was jet-black and effortlessly swishing around her shoulders. And not only was she gorgeous, she was here, in an exclusive AP class, meaning she was one of the smartest girls on campus. The address of her dorm came back to him; she was close to the library, meaning she was in the dorm famous for housing the kids with the most scholarship money.

"...curious," he finished stupidly, meeting her eyes.

"Nothing wrong with that," she said casually, sitting down.

She smelled like apple blossoms. "Oh. Um, okay. I...I didn't mean to snoop or anything," he stammered. "I'm just not...not a people person, you know?"

She smiled again, and it was like something shorted out in his brain. "That's kinda sweet, in a weird way."
Quote of the Day: "...And I help people because I want to, and right now you're roasting in the hot belly of a platinum dragon, so you might wanna ask yourself where your priorities lie!"
