Hi, everyone! Chapter 31 is up now! Check it out!
And so I'm doing another behind-the-scenes thing because a lot of funny stuff happened while I was shooting this chapter!
Okay, so this chapter was pretty miserable. Poor Helena got her heart twisted and stomped on by jerky Garrett.
So now I suppose I'll talk about Garrett. The way I wrote him, you'd think he was a Romance Sim or, possibly, a prestige-obsessed Fortune Sim. Wrong! Garrett is actually a Family Sim. I was seriously afraid both he and Helena would go into failure when they broke up, they both had ginormous fears of it.
Garrett was not actually dating the girl with the cheap-hooker make-up. And now I'll talk about how she's involved.
This trampy-looking townie is named Tosha in my game. She was at the house on the day Hermione died and showed absolutely no emotion. So she steered clear of the family until my wrath subsided and I almost totally forgot about it.
I didn't include her name, because she shares her name with resident biatch Tosha Go. I didn't want people to think they were the same biatch somehow. I never really included a close-up picture of her.
And so Helena was heartbroken and escaped to the tiny cold stone room on the third floor. Now, this room has been used by a Granger before. Don't you remember? Kudos to those who do, it was awhile ago.
Sillies! It was Dolores's study in Generation D! It was only in like two slides, so I'm not surprised if nobody remembers. But the world map's the biggest clue, it was still there.
The scenes at the One-Twenty-Five Cafe were extremely hard to shoot. Firstly, the game kept crashing. That was a problem in itself. Then, I kept waiting for ANY teen girl to show up; Tosha the cheap-hooker-townie was not planted there. Garrett and Helena were sitting at seperate tables for an entire day waiting for a teenage girl. Finally, I started hijacking townies with boolprop. Finally one townie had a decent relationship with a teenager, and I invited her to the lot to shoot the scenes. I made liberal use of Decorgal's talking hacks during these scenes.
Also, the stupid old seater-dude kept seating people next to Helena. And Helena, being the OCD freak that she is, kept cleaning up all the diners' dirty plates. She's so weird. But I love her.
And when Helena returned home, there were two slides that were absolute hell-on-earth to coordinate. The talking hacks are amazing but they don't run on a loop like Jaydee's. So Mimi had a wrong experession when Helena was perfect, or Helena got to the part of the action I wanted and Mimi was already done with hers. Urghhhh.
And then came the transformation scene where happy Helena becomes depressed emo Helena. And she got angry at Mimi and remembered the other time she had avoided Mimi back when she was a kid. And she makes a run for it to Dolores's old study. I have a lot of pictures of Helena being sad and angry and generally hopeless in there.
And this is the marionette slide. Helena's an odd little thing; she literally needs to be loved. She never feels complete unless she knows somebody loves her. And it's kind of sad how much she needs that. Even thogh Garrett was a buttwipe she still felt she needed him. Too many girls are like that after break-ups.
And finally, Helena and Seb. She falls in love with a family friend, and of course Harry is furious because he hates Seb. So I can haz happy ending nao? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, there is another chapter of teenybopping goodness. Because Harry and Mimi are too interesting to be ignored!
And one final note: Mimi seems to only mess up Helena's make-overs. Getting that braid right took four tries. Getting Helena's wavy hair right took three. It's crazy. Mimi does fine on everyone else!
The next update will have Mimi/Gabi friction and Harry/Bella action! Night, everyone!
