So I'm still in NTM this year! I even made it into the top 3 last round, which absolutely floored me.
The current active round is Color My Emotion, which was a round last year as well. Because of that it took me a while to really get inspired for the round. And now that I finally have, I find myself with an unprecedented dilemma: I have too many pictures and I can't choose three to submit.
Honestly, it's ridiculous. I stare at my seven best pictures, each representing a different emotion, and I make a decision and then change my mind, swapping out one photo for another just to swap the replacement for another or end up with the first picture again and I keep going around in circles and it's absurd. Which leads to this post: which three of my seven shots for the round are the ones that particularly stand out or properly express an emotion?
Oh, and you don't even want to know how many shots I've rejected already; the seven "finalists," as it were, are the best from their particular crop. Each feeling had five or six different shots or angles. It was absurd. No wonder my computer keeps complaining to me about disk space...
Anyway. It's picture/babbling time.
Well, let's start with A, shall we? This would be a freestyle shot. The color's gray, and the emotion's apathy. Apathy's a lack of feeling/caring for others and such. If you simply do not care, you're apathetic. I tried to convey that sense of simply ignoring feelings or just plain not giving a fuck, and threw in a robot setpiece for good measure.
Here's determination, paired with the color brown and a rather angry-looking Marnie. She looks like she's on a mission, doesn't she? This one isn't really my favorite, but it's unique and I like that. The green on the setpiece would probably lose me some points, tbh. :\
Next we have blue-tinged confusion, which would be pretty accurate for me right now. This would be a headshot. I like this one because the font I found suits the emotion and Marnie's expression is kind of funny. But I feel like confusion is kind of cliche and I'd like to be as original as possible.
Here's a very orange curiosity; this one's almost definitely going in because I wasn't happy with any of my other bodyshots so it's kind of the only one I have. lol. Anyway, I surrounded Marnie with a bunch of orange things and tried to convey an attitude of "What's that? Ooh, what's THAT? What does this do?! :D"
Purple Empathy is another one I really like. I don't even know why, it just kinda speaks to me, I guess. Marnie's really giving off a sense of empathy and caring and friendly concern. Also she looks adorable. Several times I've considered it for the headshot but not quite with absolute certainty.
Burning-red hatred turned out pretty cool-looking too. She really does look like she's staring at someone with intense distaste. It'd be a freestyle. She looks really scary, as well. My notes list "dangerous anger" as an alternate title for this concept. (Yeah, I had so many different ideas I had to like write them all down and take notes. Dx)
Finally, we have yellow obsession. This one's kinda random; alternately it could have been "enthusiasm" but, as stated, I was trying to be ~speshul so I went a little beyond enthusiasm into obsession. As for the prop, I chose the first pretty yellow thing I saw. I don't know why this sculpture is so fascinating to Marnie. xD
Anyway, those are my seven shots. Even after all this I really do like them all for different reasons, which is awesome because I really wasn't enthusiastic at all for this round at the start. (I got eliminated before I could post in this round last year, I think...bad memories and such. jk, jk~)
Also Deathly Hallows Part 2 was so freaking fantastic and I cried so much and just...I don't have any words. It was beautiful. Go see it.
