100 Books: Books 4, 5, & 6- Percy Jackson & "The Compound"

Feb 16, 2011 18:03

So since I've recently gone through three books, I've decided to combine them into one post. Two of the three are part of a series involving Greek mythology, and the other is yet more dystopian literature. I had a fun time reading all three of them, which was awesome.

On my house, on my job, my loot, shoot, my voice, my mind, my crew, my father's last name! )

books, school is for losers, 100 books, random

My brother loves the series as well, haha. He told me he was too embarassed to go into the kid's section for the books, so he got me to fetch 'em. He's twenty-one XD

I've always wanted to get into these (I did flick through the first book a couple years back), but I was never taught Greek mythology, so it'd be a bit hard to grasp the history of the series.

My brother said you should read the new book by the author. It's like set around the same era as the Percy Jackson books, and it's centered around Greek mythology, but it's about someone else. xD

Haha, that's so sweet! I haven't yet developed a proper sense of shame over reading kids' books; a lot of them are so good I don't even care. (That, and a lot of popular YA fiction really isn't my style.)
I think the books do a good enough job of explaining the mythology if you're not familiar with it. And even then, they're fun.
Oh, yeah, I heard about that! Once I get my hands on the last one I'll be sure to check it out.
