Loving Cats

Oct 01, 2003 10:46

Well, yesterday was our cats vet appointments. Riot for his yearly checkup and shots and Rebel for Pre-Op blood work. The appointment was at 2:15 so I had to take time off of work. April did the same too. Now, I got the times messed up and thought it was at 2:30. April and I went home, caught the cats and headed to the vets place. It is about a 20 minute drive. Rebel REALLY hates the cat carrier and the drive. He always poops while we are on our way to the vet. Yesterday was no exception. We were about 200 feet away from the vets and you could smell it. :( Poor little guy. Well, I grabbed Rebel and April grabbed Riot and we headed in. I walked in and told the people at the counter that Rebel pooped again and asked if I could go in a room to clean him up. One person responded by saying our appointment was at 2:15 and they were real busy and we would have to reschedule for another day. I asked them if they could just do Rebels blood work today and they said both doctors were too busy. April was pissed. I was pissed. I was finally able to go into a room to clean Rebel. While in there, one of the workers was in there too cleaning Rebel's carrier. I told her how upset Rebel gets when he has to go the vets and April and I took time off of work to go today. She said she was sorry but they were just too busy. I got done with Rebel and brought him over to April who was sitting on a bench with Riot in his cage. April said she didn't want to come back to them any more. I mean poor Rebel can't open his mouth all the way and it hurts him to eat, yawn, and touch his mouth. They couldn't take any time just to draw some blood. WTF. I asked the other person at the counter what were the exact tests needed to be done cause I was going to go to vets until someone did the work today. I was not putting Rebel though this again on Thursday when this vet wanted us to come back. The person copied Rebel's file and handed it to me. I initially gave her Riot's poop sample right when I walked in, and now she asked me if I still wanted the tests run on it and I said no and to throw it away. I went and picked up Rebel, April picked up Riot and we left. I drove right to a place that is closer to our home and was about 5-8 minutes from this other place. We got there and April stayed with the kitties and I went in. I explained the situation to the person at the desk and she went and asked the ONLY doctor there and he said he would do it. We bought in the cats, waited about 10 minutes and it was Rebel's turn. April went in with him and they were out in 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES!! and it would have been faster but the doctor had to try Rebel's other leg cause he missed with the first leg or something like that. 5 fucking minutes and that other place couldn't be bothered to take that time to do it. Assholes. When it was time to pay, April and I were at the counter and I thanked the whole staff for taking the time to help us out and that they just gained 2 new customers. I will be calling the old vet when I am done posting to have our cats files faxed over to the new doctor. Ah, I couldn't wait. I already called them and the files are being faxed now. :) Good bye asshole Vet place. Looks like Rebel will have his mouth fixed sometime next week. Got to plan a good time to get this done.

Damn, this might be my longest post yet :)
