So what do you believe in then?wideanglefocusApril 13 2005, 13:16:49 UTC
Do you believe in any kind of spiritual connectivity or purpose or do you think we are just here? I think our existence is so complex just in the face that we even exist, it makes me think there has to be at least some spiritual force holding this all together. Maybe it falls more along the lines of Buddhist philosophy or even Confuscionism instead of Christianity.

i take the hardcore scientist perspective when it comes to human beings. i see us as one of the trillions of species on this planet, all evolved from some common origin. the fact that we can basically recreate the origins of life in test tube makes it all perfectly realistic to me that that's how we started. my over-arching theory, the one i decided is my own.. is the theory of infinity. i don't believe that there was any specific time in which universes were created.. i just think they've always been around. one has been created from another's leftover blown up planets, etc. every star that we can see when we look up to the sky is another solar system's sun. to me, that means the universe stretches for infinity, and that we cannot, by any means, see to the end of it. with that said, i also believe that the complex molecules that make up all life on earth are present, scattered, throughout all infinity, and that all over these planets, when conditions are just right, the same thing (evolution) is happening there too

it's good to hear that you're thinking about cutting meat out of your diet. i was vegan for about a year, no animal products whatsoever. i will probably, at some point in my life, go back to being vegan and stick with it. my ultimate goal is to have an enormous vegetable garden and small farm to be completely self sufficient. this sounds like a complete dream, but it's true - it's all i've ever wanted. i'm sure i'd still have to buy some things, but to even have my own vegetables and fruits grown on my own property.. at some point we're all going to have to do that, because we're not going to be able to trust huge corporations to produce safe and edible foods. okay, they might be safe and edible, but after consuming them (with all the hormones and additives) over time, i'm sure it will be detrimental
