It's 6.30am and I probably should be packing with my mother, but damnit, it's 6.30. My body doesn't even know I'm 'awake' yet.
In all honesty, I don't know how I'm going to fit all my stuff in poor Louie (my car). The stuff from downstairs (two big boxes, my suitcase and 3 smaller boxes filled with clothes) can fit no problems, but then there's all the shit from upstairs: towels, easel, blanket, boxes of books, lamp, mirror, desk, filing cabinet (c/o Ikea, so flat-packed).... Where?? Poor Louie.
And, although I did get some responses to my ad for a driving partner, I am going this alone. Yep, 1800km solo. Over two, possibly 3 days, depending on whether this bushfire in the Wodonga is gonna be a bastard. I'm not looking forward to it, but in an effort to be productive, I downloaded some Noam Chomsky lectures to listen to, and bought Zadie Smith's On Beauty as well. 6 1/2 hours of the trip are sorted. I don't know whether to 'do' her today or tomorrow. Maybe I'll do half and half.
Ok. That's possibly enough for now. I'm going to go check on the progress and start helping.
See y'all in Melbourne!!
