can't sleep

May 10, 2013 06:26

It's 6:30 and I'm already awake for an 1 1/2 hours... It's kind of funny actually. Just a couple of days ago I told my husband how glad I am for still being able to sleep through. I probably shouldn't have opened my big mouth. Feels like I jinxed myself ( Read more... )

I know what you mean. I can't sleep, feel like a beached whale, and then when I finally fall asleep, I keep having to get up to pee.

I read. on my phone, usually. or go watch tv. There's always something on the DVR.

I think I'm starting to get it when people say they're "ready to be done".

Yes me too! I can't imagine that it will probably get even worse.

Ahhh I hear you... I had been bragging about how I still 'sleep like the dead' and that seems to be over now. I can't get comfortable, I can't stay asleep once asleep. Last night, about 30 minutes after having finally fallen asleep, I woke myself up in this bizarre, gross way - I think I swallowed my own spit wrong or something, and woke up choking and had to go and get something to eat to fix my throat. wtf!

(and then 3 hours later my sister called me with some relationship emergency and I had to drive across town to pick her up. Tried to get back to sleep, couldn't get comfortable, had weird 'stress face' (like a headache but in my face? From stress? I don't even..) ... and then I finally got comfortable but my stomach started growling uncontrollably and I had to get up to eat. Hooray no sleep!)

Ah that's actually kinda scary...

I hope your sister is alright?!

Thanks, yeah, she is ok. Definitely shaken up and no longer in the relationship she thought she was in. On my way to get her, I got a phone call from the (random) girl whose phone she borrowed to call me, who was really worried and wanted to know if my sister was alright, if somebody was coming to get her, told me she suspected that 'her boyfriend had put his hands on her' and asked if we needed any help. Kind of restored my faith in humanity a little bit that a stranger would show such concern.

I suppose I could sleep without any pregnancy woes, but it's mostly our dog and/or 3-year-old who wakes me up way too early...
I've always had trouble falling back asleep if I get up in the middle of the night. Thank goodness I now have an iPhone, I've noticed my eyes get tired pretty quickly if I browse Pinterest!

However, I just read today that having trouble sleeping at this point is "good practice" for what's to come with a newborn!
I remember when I was on maternity leave with my first, I stayed up until 2 am and was woken up around 6 am when my fiancé got back from work, we hung out for a couple of hours until he went to bed and then I just continued sleeping until noon.

I read that too - about it being practice for the future :) I only have one more week to go until I go on maternity leave. So looking forward to it.

It must be so hard when you already have a toddler around. I can't even imagine.

I get to sleep fine, no trouble there really, but when I'm woken up early have a lot of trouble getting back to sleep. It would be fine except my cat insists on waking me up by 6am every morning for food time and getting back to sleep isn't always the easiest proposition. Definitely ready to be done at 35 weeks though!

I don't know... maybe it had something to do with the humid weather lately. Let's see how tonight goes. Struggling with heartburn though....

If I do sleep at night, it's only for 4-5 hours tops.. I spend most of my time on photoshop or pinterest..

my joints, hips & body hurt so much, so sore.. that I cant sleep.. on top of that random contractions.. baby jumping around, I'm a hopeless cause, til I have this baby..

even then, I wont get much sleep. haha I sleep better during the day anyways, for whatever reason..

sometimes i have "i'm dying" heartburn as well.. even when i take meds for it.. i chug half a gallon of milk & drink lots of water and pray it goes away.

and i have 24 days til get this baby out, unless he has plans to come before hand, which i'm totally fine with at this point!
