Thanks to my awesome brother, I am now the proud owner of a copy of Call of Duty 5: World at War. But the lame thing is, my Acer has some DVD-drive issues, that when I put the DVD in, it gets stuck, doesn't read, and doesn't want to come out. Whenever I press the eject button, there's this whining sound, and then click click click, and the DVD doesn't move. I don't know whether the DVD is faulty, or it's my stupid ass drive. I have tried other discs and they seem to go in and out fine, although there is a strange clicking noise. What do you guys think? Should I attempt to put the COD 5 DVD in again, or just wait till I get my new computer?
Oh and happy new year folks lol. I hope you all had an enjoyable eve, and are resting up good today. I have yet to think up my resolutions for the year 2009, I really should get started on those.
Anyway, back to my computer woes. The same Acer key that is my semicolon, that fell off awhile back, has fallen off again despite me having taken it to the Acer repair center to fix that issue. It's kinda' peeving me off that the stupid Acer is not doing a good job with their service. I don't want to have to take the PC back again because the DVD got stuck in the drive. That would piss me off real bad. So I am going to try many other dvds, and when I see that the stupid drive actually still works, then I will return the COD 5 dvd to the shop for a new one with the deduction that it is the dvd at fault.
I was so looking forward to playing it too. Oh well. I guess my Acer will have to stick to playing Left 4 Dead all the way till the end of the month. LOL, that wouldn't be hard to do. Oh, and for those who own Left 4 Dead, there's good news what with the two other campaigns Dead Air and Death Toll finally ported to Versus mode. I'm sure everyone's sick and tired of overplaying No Mercy and Blood Harvest. And also apparently, some surprise new stuff, and of course, the SDK which means we can make our own levels. Apparently Valve is going to be kind enough to have a series of tutorials made available for all noob level makers like yours truly.
Anyway, fingers crossed my new computer comes at the end of the month. It is good however to have my Acer back with a clean new OS, and me being able to clean up all my files. The only pain in the ass is having to load the computer up with all my music, with the only possible to rip music from my iPod. If you know me you will know that I am very anal with my music directory, having folders by artists followed by subfolders of the albums. I don't just put the files in any old place. And they all must have their artwork. But I fear if I rip the files from the iPod back into the computer, it won't be in the same form. It's just a pain that the part of the old hard drive that could fried had my music and photos in it. :(
That is why, the moral of the story is BACK UP BITCHES!
Which is why I bought myself a handy dandy 500GB external hard drive. Yay for me.
::UPDATE:: Yup, it's a DVD problem and not my drive. I'll have to take it back for a new one *sigh*
