Monkey climbing for the win!
So, my sister Annabelle won first place in both her form and sparring competition during the Manitoba All Martial Arts Tournament last Saturday! Hooray! Alee, Patrick, my grandma and I were watching from the bleachers above the gym and got it on camera. There's almost nothing more adorable than watching tiny five year olds kicking like karate pros. It was really funny, too, because my dad was so bitter when he only won second place for his form demo, and third place for his sparring match.
Earlier in the day, the tournament had started off with a demonstration by the Bushido-Kai dojo team, and they did some awesome stuff. The sensei was this tiny guy who totally kicked ass. There was a guy he went up against who looked like he was double his height and weight, and he did a monkey climb into his shoulders and flipped him down onto his back. It was fucking awesome. I got to speak with him afterwards and he gave me his card with the website address on it when I mentioned an interest in joining the dojo.
Although, truth be told, I'm just looking for a way to buy a pair of those spiffy Japanese-style pants (hakama) that they wear to complete my Bleach costume for the anime convention this summer. When I told that to my mum, she called me an idiot and laughed.
Afterwards, the whole family, plus my grandma (who doesn't usually hang out with us) and Patrick went out for sushi to celebrate. I'm so glad that my parents like him. We didn't really... say anything to them about us going out, but I'm, like, 99% sure they know we're going out because it is pretty obvious, hahaha. But yeah, it was awesome. My dad was so embarrassing. He was almost as hyper as he was during his birthday when we went to a Japanese restaurant and mortified me by singing the Voltes 5 theme song to the waitress, who was actually Japanese.
Makeup Meme

Foundation: I scrub my skin to get rid of any dry skin and then apply copious amounts of L'Oreal True Match liquid makeup on all parts of my face. I used to use N6 during the winter but since spring started, my skin became lighter (which is really weird because there tends to be more sun during spring... @_x) so I bought W6, but it's STILL too like for me. What the hell??
Cheeks: I don't wear blush anymore. XP;;
Eyes: I start with a grey creme eyeshadow I bought from Hot Topic so I'm not sure what brand it is... but afterwards, I put on CoverGirl Eye Enchancers in Shimmering Onyx to the outer half of my eyelids. Then I use Almay Liquid Liner in Black, and then two coats of Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara. Which I fricking love because I terminally pathetic eyelashes.
Lips: I don't usually wear anything on my lips except Bonnebell Vita Gloss Moisture Stick, which works wonders for my chapped lips.
Hair: I straighten my hair, then pull it into a tiny ponytail and stick it all up with colorful carrot hairclips inspired by the decora Japanese style in Harajuku. ^o^;;
