ok, so I started watching Smallville.  I'm Netflixing my way through the first season.  I have been TiVoing the new eps, but i don't know if i should watch them or just keep going with the dvds and wait till this season comes out.

What's a girl to do?

I did that with Gilmore Girls- started watching season 2 midway through, then when season 1 came out on DVD I watched that, and now I'm watching season 3! So ass-backwards, but so what.

My advice would be to save this season on your Tivo until you've blown through the prior seasons. My reasoning for that is while the show is good, it churns out stinkers on a regular basis, especially in the third season. They manage some real gems though and that's what makes it worth sticking around for.

You should watch the previous stuff first just so you can see the differences between the awesome and the awesomely bad; that way when you do get around to the current season you'll feel rewarded for your perseverance.
