Alured was born on February 14th. He weighs eight pounds and five ounces. He's green like me.

"He looks so much like you." She steals a kiss, then goes back to grinning. "But we already knew that."

*He kisses her in return.* Mm-hm. But with your hair.

"Yeah, but it works for him."

Yes. *Though really, nothing in the multiverse could convince Morty that Alured isn't the most beautiful baby EVAR.*

Anything that tries is probably going to get a mithral-knuckle sammich from Ali.

"So, think we'll still be this starry-eyed about it next week when we're sleep-deprived and cranky?"

*He grins. The silly man isn't that worried about sleep deprivation yet. He thinks new-parent hours can't be worse than active-supervillain hours. He'll learn.*

Yes; I think it's going to take at least a month for the starry eyes to wear off.

"So optimistic! I love it."

*He smiles.* I used to be sleep deprived at least 75% of the time, I'm sure I'll get right back into the swing of it.

"Uh huh." 'Cause he totally hasn't gone soft over the last year.

"At least one of us will survive it."

*Of course he hasn't gone soft! He's just gotten accustomed to healthy food and regular hours, and uh... Hey, cute baby!*

You think I'm being unrealistic? *His expression says 'I'm sure you're right, but they were lovely illusions.'*

"I think that 'screaming baby' is a whole new sort of thing for both of us that we'll both have to learn to handle. You can't tell me your heart doesn't skip a beat or two every time he starts up."

Ok, yes, there is a certain amount of 'Ohmygod! Issomethingwrong?!'

I think we're doing good for the first 24 hours. I think we're off to a good start.

"Yes, but we're a full fifty-percent more team than most new parents."
