Getting in touch
Mortimer sat at his desk with a pen and a piece of paper. It was April already, which meant he's been engaged for almost a month and still hadn't told Lyn. It was really time to do that.
He stared at the paper for a while, marshaling the words in his head, and then started to write.
"Dear Lyn,
I'm engaged. I got engaged on March 6th, but I'm telling you now because I wasn't sure how to tell you that I'm engaged to two women: Ali, who I told you about, and Sasha, who you met. We all love each other and we want to be a family together. We're not getting married in the legal sense of course, but we're going to take vows to each other.
I'd like for you to come to the wedding, but I understand if you don't want to deal with the Nexus.
I hope things are going well for you and that you're still happy with your fiance."
He signed it simply "MT", then folded the letter and sealed it in an envelope. He copied Lyn's address from the package she'd sent him and headed off to one of the Nexus courier services.
