I don't the etiquette for posting this. This was inspired as a passable continuation of garlicsalter's piece, but only if it is welcome.

Once we did go roving
Through Summer's endless light
We'd tether ourselves together,
By touch, by smell, by sight.

Summer nights would would find us
In a warm and safe embrace
The comfort there would blind us
To the storm we'd have to face

Winter's storms are harsher
And our summertime embrace
Could not still protect us
From the frost of fallen grace

I think of you quite often
How we could have made it right
But we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night.
