there's a hole in the sky (and it's raining).
on city loop trains, there is a terrifying moment. as the train begins to descend into the tunnel, the strip of daylight you can see out of the window begins to shrink. you follow it with your eyes, pressing your face up against the window so you can catch one last second of blue sky and white clouds, and then it's gone. and you don't know if it's ever going to come back.
