Nadya Suleman is on Dr. Phil today - I hope he tears a strip off of her!

This whole situation with her sickens me.

On the doctor...
What kind of doctor implants any embryos, let alone 6, into a mentally unstable woman who already has several children she can't support? His license should be taken away - that's irresponsible.

On the woman...
It's irresponsible for someone who has six children that she can't support, wanting to have more.
It's terrible she's essentially prosituting the children to get money for media interviews.
It's sick that she's expecting all these donations from the public and from companies to pay for a mistake that she made and won't even admit to.
Also terrible is expecting a hospital to release your babies to you when you live in your mom's 3 bedroom house with 6 children and two adults already in it.
Also terrible is making your mother care for more and more children. If your primary babysitter is asking you to stop having children because she doesn't want to take care of any more and knows you can't afford to care for them, you shouldn't be having more. If I were that grandmother, I would just leave the house to them and get the heck out of there.

On the precedent...
It's horrible that companies are giving them free stuff in exchange for advertising, and individuals are donating. The gross irresponsible behaviour of this woman should not be enabled or rewarded. Can you imagine what people will do if that happens? "I'm broke and living in my mom's 3 bedroom house with my 6 children and my mom, but if I go and get a dozen embryos implanted, just wait 9 months and I will never have to worry about money again! Big houses will be given to me, every diaper, bottle, toy, container of food will be supplied free of charge... it will increase my quality of life!" What would stop all other struggling mothers from doing that? In addition, once the hype goes down for Nadya and the donations slow, what will she do? I bet you anything that she'll go get a few more embryos implanted. Why not? It worked last time!

On the finances...
I guess that brings us to her financial situation. How does she qualify for welfare and food stamps while getting approximately $30,000 of cosmetic surgery, and being able to afford 6 IVF treatments, usually around $10,000 each? That doesn't make sense!! Why wouldn't she have just had one or two children and spent the rest of the money on an adequate-sized home of their own, and gotten off the welfare system? I guess it wouldn't be as fun - being normal doesn't warrant a host of tv interviews, and therefore all the fame.
It should be illegal to be on disability when you are physically capable of carrying 8 children. No desk job could be as demanding as that. She MUST have committed some sort of fraud... I'm sure nobody in the government would give money to someone who had almost $100,000 kicking around.
Also, apparently to house/feed/clothe etc. 14 children, it will cost $1.5 million dollars... and that's bare necessities. Three of her existing children had special needs, and the risk of disabilites in octuplets is very high... add those costs atop the $1.5 million. The cost of delivering and having the 8 babies in the hospital all this time will leave at least a million dollar health care bill. Anyone got insurance? Want any of them to go to college? Add more on top of that! Good luck doing that off welfare.

On the babies...
It is my theory that a woman on welfare is not equipped to care for 14 children. Someone ran a calculation, and to breastfeed 8 babies, you'd be feeding them for 30 hours a day without a break. Now, you might notice there are not 30 hours in a day, and more things to do than feeding. There is no way she can take responsibility for her actions, because somebody is going to have to help her, and therefore enable her decision.
I believe that the best thing for everyone is this scenario - child protective services realizes that she cannot afford to house/feed/clothe/care for her children, and they adopt them to homes of loving families who are unable to have children. The mother goes into live-in psychiatric care and gets a hysterectomy, the grandmother and grandfather take a very long beach vacation, the sperm donor gets a vasectomy, the doctor loses his license, and everything is perfect. Unfortunately, people seem to still not have the confirmation they need that these babies should not go anywhere near this obsessive mom's home. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Like I said, the whole thing makes me sick. She's immature, selfish, and has no sense of reality or decision-making and consequences. That spells unfit mom to me! I hope her life is hell from here on out.
